Student Reviews

A Columbia '13 student gives a grade of A to Facilities:
The Campus Is Beautifully Immaculate- "Columbia University's campus sits in the middle of the bustling streets of Broadway and Amsterdam Ave. The beauty of the campus is a surprising gem amidst the concrete of the city. The emerald lawns are perfectly manicured and always invites students to read and play frisbee on its grounds. The steps are always full on sunny days and is a hangout where students can hang out with friends, catch up on the latest, or just soak up some sun."

A Columbia '12 student majoring in Biological Sciences gives a grade of A to Health & Safety:
Safety- "the guards are very serious about their jobs and always make sure that people sign in before entering the buildings"

A Columbia '13 student majoring in English gives a grade of A+ to Diversity:
Diversity- "Columbia University is THE MOST DIVERSE UNIVERSITY IN THE IVY LEAGUE. Our school has great diversity on all levels: socioeconomic, racial, religious, and sexual orientation. We even have age diversity with our School of General Studies and all of our Graduate Schools as well as political diversity. Our campus strives for open discussion. No student ever has to hide who they truly are!"

A Columbia '12 student majoring in Engineering gives a grade of A- to Off-Campus Dining:
If You Can, Get Off the Plan- "Food around Columbia is actually cheaper than at Columbia. $5 sandwiches abound, along with cheap Chinese food. Of course, it's not dirt cheap, this is New York, but the dining plan is $14 per meal, which is crazy"

A Columbia '13 student majoring in Law gives a grade of B to Guys & Girls:
At Least People Are Smart- "There's some attractive people here and there, but looks definitely aren't the strong point here at Columbia. At least most people are somewhat intelligent and can hold a conversation. Generally, the guys think they're "too good" for most of the girls, and the girls think the same way about most of the guys, which means everyone's pretty average. Small campus makes it easy to get to know and hang out with people, though, and the Core Curriculum does ensure that you have something to talk about with basically every student (sans engineers). The presence of Barnard, the Columbia-affiliated all-girls school across the street, does mean that the guy-girl ratio is a little skewed, though (good for guys, not so for girls)."
